Thousands of arts and culture enthusiasts from near and far visited the Fenway Cultural District for the 12th Annual Opening Our Doors! The day began with a rousing Kick-off Ceremony on the Christian Science Plaza led by veteran arts and culture critic Joyce Kulhawik, who was joined by State Representative Byron Rushing, Councillor Tito Jackson, President of the Mary Baker Eddy Library Lesley Pitts, Community Relations Liason of The First Church of Christ, Scientist Toni Gaspard, and the Fenway Alliance’s Executive Director Kelly Brilliant.
As always, the Boston Children’s Chorus serenaded the crowd, before the Hot Tamale Brass Band began honking and tooting in preparation for the Kids Parade around the Reflection Pool. All who participated in the parade enjoyed the delicious free cupcakes provided by Oakleaf Cakes, and went on their merry way to experience the array of fun OOD activities in the Fenway Cultural District.
