“Boston Arts Academy (BAA) is the city’s first and only public high school for the visual and performing arts. As a pilot school within the Boston Public Schools, BAA prepares a diverse community of aspiring artist-scholars to succeed in their college or professional careers and to become engaged members of a democratic society.
BAA was founded on the belief that arts and academics are equally important to a student’s development. The arts are integrated throughout the academic curriculum and are used as a vehicle to motivate students with a variety of learning styles to succeed in high school and to pursue high education. The goal of the BAA curriculum is not necessarily to produce profession artists, but rather to give each student the opportunity to learn, create, and discover his or her own unique talents.”
