What’s Happening This Summer @MFABoston
In celebration of the Teen Arts Council’s 10 year anniversary, the MFA worked in tandem with Boston Public Schools to present “HOMiE: In Our Eyes”, a new exhibition featuring artwork from local student artists. The exhibition opens July 16 and is comprised of 44 works of art chosen by the members of the Teen Arts Council at the MFA. This exhibition is unlike anything else in the entire museum, it deals with issues of identity, socioeconomic status, and reflects societal change all from a young person’s perspective. Make sure to attend one of the panel discussions, meet and greet with the artists or a related spoken word and poetry event.
If the 16th is too long of a wait to see new art, all July long the MFA will run “Making Modern” which focuses on 20th century artists from Kahlo to Picasso. The MFA is also hosting French cinema as part of the 21st annual Boston French Film Festival running from July 7-24.
